What? Facebook Social Plugins? What does that mean?
Basically, a Facebook Social Plugin is a widget that you can place on your website in order to extend the benefits of your Facebook marketing efforts outside the social network. It’s a method to harness the power of Facebook’s millions of active users for your own website’s marketing efforts.
There are now 11 Social Plugins on Facebook. While some are more effective than others, these plugins provide some fantastic ways to boost your company’s social media marketing efforts. Let’s go over three of Facebook’s Social Plugins, what they are, and how you may use them on your website creatively and efficiently.
-
Like Button
The Like Button is the most widely used Facebook Social Plugin on the internet, and I’m sure you’ve seen it on other websites and blogs. With just one click, customers may share pages from your website to their Facebook profiles. It’s the web version of Facebook’s official “share” button.
But what are its marketing uses?
The Like Button is a popular Facebook plugin. By including it on your website, people will be more likely to share your material with their own Facebook networks. This will increase your reach by exposing your material to potential fans and consumers outside of your own network.
-
Send Button
The Send Button allows users to your website to send content to their friends in a private message, whether it’s via Facebook messaging, a wall post to a specific Facebook Group, or an email.
While this plugin won’t boost the reach of your material as much as the Like Button due to its more private applications, it can provide your less public website users with more sharing alternatives for your content. You can even construct a combination button that shows the Like and Send Buttons next to each other on your web page if you’re already intending on adding a Like Button to your content. To give your website visitors more sharing alternatives, use the Send Button wherever you’d use the Like Button!
-
Comment Box
Visitors to a website can submit comments using the Comments Box plugin. As a result of social signals, the most relevant comments from friends, friends of friends, and popular or active discussion threads are ranked higher than less relevant comments. It is possible for a commenter to click the “Post to Facebook” option when making a post on your website, and that comment will appear in the News Feeds of their friends. A link to your website is also included. Your site’s Comments Box will also be updated if someone leaves a Facebook comment on the story!
At first sight, Facebook’s Comments Box appears to be very similar to your blog’s comments function, right? However, with Facebook’s plugin, commenting becomes much more social, as comments can be shared on Facebook, bringing even more attention to the page where the Comments Box is located. Additionally, the Comments Box can be put to any page on your site, even non-blog pages.
