Mueller confirms Google cannot understand sarcasm
Responding to the questions, Mueller said: “I would say there’s a risk that we misunderstand things like that or that we don’t understand when there is sarcasm on a page. And especially if it’s something where you must get the right message across to Google and all users, then I would make sure it’s as clear as possible.”
Takeaway
Making sarcastic remarks can be a little off-topic, which confuses Google. As a result, it can harm your ranking since the search engine thinks it does not relate to the topic. Therefore, staying on point is integral to making an impression on your rating.
