Senior webmaster analyst of Google, John Mueller, was asked if it is true that the search engine does not understand sarcasm? He offered an explanation that discussed that irony is not appropriate in the context of Google.
Google discover recently excluded satire from being shown. In an update released in 2021 April, Google explained that the genre might confuse people.
Mueller confirms Google cannot understand sarcasm
Responding to the questions, Mueller said: “I would say there’s a risk that we misunderstand things like that or that we don’t understand when there is sarcasm on a page. And especially if it’s something where you must get the right message across to Google and all users, then I would make sure it’s as clear as possible.”
Making sarcastic remarks can be a little off-topic, which confuses Google. As a result, it can harm your ranking since the search engine thinks it does not relate to the topic. Therefore, staying on point is integral to making an impression on your rating.
